Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Suko collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
By using the Suko app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
Suko ("we," "us," "our") is a social expression app, operated by SUKO Labs, that lets you create a personalised cartoon avatar and share visual messages called Shots with your friends. This policy applies to the Suko mobile application and all related services. Contact: ajay@suko.social
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Give Us
- During onboarding: Selfie / Photo sent to OpenAI to generate your personalised avatar, then deleted immediately; username and profile details
- Messages and content, Shots sent and received, and contacts only when you enable Find friends. Contact phone numbers are converted to a scrambled form for matching, non-users are discarded immediately, and syncing runs only when you tap it
- Photo Library access only if enabled to save Shots, and camera access solely for onboarding and in-app photo capture
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: How you interact with the App - features used, screens visited, and general engagement patterns
- Log Data: IP address, timestamps, and error logs for debugging and security purposes
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your phone contacts
- We do not collect payment information
- We do not run advertising trackers
3. How We Use Your Information
- Generate and display your personalised cartoon avatar
- Create and deliver Shots between users
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and safety violations
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.
4. Your Selfie and Avatar - Important Notice
4.1 Your Selfie
Your selfie is sent to OpenAI to analyse facial features and generate your avatar, then deleted immediately after avatar creation. It is not used for advertising or provider model training.
4.2 Your Avatar
Your avatar is stored to power your Shot-creation experience. You can request deletion by deleting your account.
4.3 DPDP Act Compliance
Suko is committed to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Facial image data is treated as sensitive personal data and processed only as necessary for avatar generation.
5. Blind Shot (Anonymous Sending)
When you send a Blind Shot, your identity is hidden from the recipient within the app experience. However, Suko internally retains a record of the sender for safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance purposes. If a Blind Shot is reported for violating our Community Guidelines or applicable law, we may use this internal record to take appropriate action, including disclosing sender information to authorities where required by law.
6. ShotBook
Your ShotBook contains a history of Shots you have sent and received. This history is visible only to you (and, in the case of a shared ShotBook between two users, both parties). We do not make your ShotBook visible to any other users or third parties unless required by law.
7. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party providers (such as cloud hosting and AI processing services) who process data on our behalf, under strict confidentiality obligations
- Safety and Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm, fraud, or a violation of our Terms
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Suko, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy
8. Data Retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service or as required by law.

9. Your Rights
You have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by going to Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing ajay@suko.social
- Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ajay@suko.social. We will respond within a reasonable period, in accordance with the DPDP Act and applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Suko is available to users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered an account, please contact us at ajay@suko.social and we will promptly delete the account and associated data. For users between 13 and 18, we encourage parents and guardians to be involved in their child's use of the App.
11. Data Security
We take security seriously. We use encryption, access controls, and security monitoring to protect your personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the App if the changes are significant. Your continued use of Suko after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
